Wright Triathlon Club History

The Dayton Ohio area Wright Triathlon Club is an organized club dedicated to the educational pursuit of triathlon, general physical fitness, and the representation of the sport of triathlon within the community. Our club started in 1999 has over 75 active members today.
The club started in 1998 as the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Triathlon Club with Gordon Gerson (a cardiologist at the Base Hospital) and Jamie Comer (a nutritionist at the Base Hospital). They recruited other base people, mostly from the hospital, and put a note in the Base paper, the SkyWriter. It was decided to expand the club to the entire Dayton area and become an official USAT club for 1999 so we could compete in the MERCRS.
